Purchase 3
October 27, 2018
He decided to post about their treatment on the shopping site's bike corner in which he had posted before. Before, he posted a praise; now, this time, he wanted to post a criticism.

He went to his 'shopping history' site, and clicked the 'review' button of his bike. There appeared a list of his past purchases, but he couldn't find his bike on it. He searched on the shopping website using his bike's name, but he couldn't find his bike's corner that he had previously posted on. There were some bikes that models were the same, but they had some additional accessories like a carrier, and the price was a little different. His conclusion was that maybe they didn't like his previous post that said that the handles were cheap and made your hands black as well as the stand and meter broke easily. "Maybe they withdrew from my bike's corner and put up a new corner of the same model with some additional accessories."

He again emailed the maker stating that he was thinking about consulting the national consumer center. He also mentioned that he would complain to the shopping website organizer.

The return email came, and again it was very polite but didn't answer his email. So, he emailed to the website organizer revealing the maker's treatment towards him and his situation. Soon, he received a reply from the organizer. It read that as the product is called a 'sponsor product', they couldn't do anything about that product. Thus one should communicate all concerns about the product to them directly. He sighed, "I did, and so I contacted you!"

He emailed again to the maker that when he had purchased his bike, he checked various shopping sites from many foreign countries, and read the reviews about the bicycle. Now he was thinking about posting to their sites about this problem. There was no answer from the maker this time.

Soon after, he posted on the shopping site in which he bought his bicycle. The post was not under his bike's precise model because it had a carrier, but it was the same bicycle. He had no idea whether the organizer would accept it or not. After couple of days, he received an email that read that they accepted his posting. He was relieved, but it didn't last long. When he checked the corner after a couple of days, he realized that the bike became 'out of stock'. In this case, if a person searched for the product, that bike wouldn't appear on the full list of the maker's models.

When he was checking the same model, he realized that there were sentences that the maker wrote, they read "Our product can be registered for anti-theft registration." and "We will guarantee this product for one year." He was speechless. "That's what I had posted and said at first!" He also saw the ratings and the opinions, four starts or five starts and the opinions were more or less good, although their way of writing was a little unnatural.

He had to say they were tough business people.

One day when he was pedaling his assist ~now non-assist~ bike at night, he lost his balance and fell down badly and broke the left brake lever. He hurt both of his hands and his left leg was bleeding. His injuries were not so serious, fortunately.

The following day, he went to the bike shop that he had been to many times before in order to fix his bike. He asked to fix the lever and told the owner that maybe the brake lever's nuts had a crack, so maybe the brake was not strong enough. The owner said laughing that it was not a crack. They were original parts.

This incident gave him a little bit of a change about his way of thinking. He felt like the maker was a black company. He thought about a hypothesis, "They were not accustomed to this country's business customs. They are just bad communicators like they are saying. But, to come to think of it, maybe, they don't have any means to fix the bike. Maybe their way of doing things was just immature."

When he checked the shopping site, he realized the bike with his 1 star posting was there, recovered from 'out of stock'.

Recently, he went to the bike shop a lot.
There were some new assist bikes made in this country and were sold recently. Some of them had the same voltage as his assist bike, which had stronger assist than the old ones. The bike shop owner allowed him to test the bikes. He was also allowed to test ride on the expensive non-assist sports type bikes.

After he did the trial riding of the new assist bikes and the sports type non-assist bikes, he got some knowledge:

New assist bikes which had the same voltage of his were better than the old ones. But the assist was still weaker than his bike. Maybe his bike's assisting power exceeded his country's laws.

About sports type non-assist bikes. He tried 2 types. They were amazing. At first, he felt as if they had electric assistance. Their pedaling was smooth and the 27 gear-change gave him smooth pedaling according to the slope's degrees. He didn't feel exhausted, even on the steep slopes. Maybe normal bikes had also been improving. Their price range was half as the same type of electric assist bikes. They were made in foreign countries.

Now he was thinking to buy one of them that was made in Hawaii. On a normal bike, you don't need to charge the battery every day. To take it off, to charge it, and to set it again every day was troublesome.

He didn't have any idea to give up his assist bike.
But he guessed that the negotiation between the maker would be long. He wanted to again enjoy his bike life that his assist bike had let him know.
