| In this society, robots were too well-made so only a few people knew which were robots and which were not. So when humans were dying, they came to know it was a complicated situation. The man in the bed of the hospital said, "I'll die soon. I'd like to leave my will, so please prepare for it." His wife called a lawyer and the lawyer soon came with a special digital camera. In this era, the technology was very advanced, so any documents could be faked very precisely. People needed to record legal items using a special camera which had special copy guards. The wife was relieved and said while looking at her husband's eyes, "I'm sorry but I am a robot. I think you are vaguely aware of it though." The husband looked shocked but said nothing. "So, I don't have a right to receive your property." After a short pause, the man in bed said in a weak voice, "It's a pitiful thing, but it could happen in the modern-era. So, I'll give my whole property to my son Ken and my daughter Karen evenly." His wife looked at the lawyer and the lawyer nodded. She said, "I'm sorry but I have to say something." The guy opened his eyes widely. She said in a sad voice, "Ken and Karen are also robots, I thought you knew this." The man in bed sighed and said to the lawyer desperately, "In that case, what should I do?" The lawyer answered, "You can adopt somebody, of course a human, before your death." The guy sighed again, and said, "Ok, ok, this is the world. In that case, I'll give up dying for the time being. Please call the doctor, ask him to put a machine or something in my body to prolong my life for a couple of years." |
