She entered the coffee shop. It was her routine to stay in a coffee shop and work there. She was a freelance CM writer. She contracted with a couple of CM companies in her time zone.

In this society the number of workers who worked at home were increasing more and more. They accessed to cloud computers in their company and worked through the computer system. They didn't leave information on their own computer, so there was no risk if their computer was lost.

In the past, companies thought that their workers who worked in the same location would keep their motivation through interactive work as well as with internal competition for promotion.

However, as the number of their coworkers worked in foreign countries increased, they more frequently used email and Skype to communicate. In reality, workers worked facing their computer almost all of their time. Originally sales persons were almost always out of their office. For them,
returning to the office was just to write a report and submit paperwork to their bosses. It became troublesome. Now, they could write it on their laptop computer and send in the information.

People lived their busy lives. They needed time to check hundreds of emails, world news, Facebook, etc… They realized that their commuting time was a waste of time. At the company office, there was a lot of wasted time: to go to the restroom, or to the coffee machine, or to take the elevator to go to the executive room, etc.

Another reason the companies let their workers work in their own places was that the systems that the companies could check how their workers worked through the history of their accessing the computers in their company. The workers needed to access their company's cloud computers, and they worked through its system. It made the company easier to follow their workers working situation. So, there was no difference between working in the company and at home.

Companies wanted to cut the maintenance cost of their buildings. They had a strict electric reducing target that the government decided for each company.

Workers worked in their house. Or, if they were crazy about fishing, they happily went to the seaside or a river to fish, and in the meantime they would work. People could choose where they wanted to work, as long as the work got done.

She preferred being inside of a building. She could work in her apartment; but, there were so many things that distracted her, like a magazine that she recently bought; a movie that she downloaded recently, etc. If she thought about making good coffee, she could do it anytime, and it would take a certain amount of time. If she found lint on the floor, she might start to vacuum. She could relax in her house and it made her feel sleepy after lunch. Because of the distractions, she used this coffee shop quit often.

In a coffee shop, you can't be in pajamas. You have a feeling that you are being watched from somebody, so it gives a person some societal tension. This was kind of difficult in one's own house.

She was writing a new car's CM's scenario. She accessed to the cloud computer of the client and looked at the information of the new car. This was an automatic driving electric car. "But …," she thought, "Who will willingly use the auto driving system?  If you don't want to drive a car by yourself, why don't you call a taxi?" In this area where she was at, taxi companies cooperated with each other. If you called them, a taxi would come to your place within five minutes or so.

She thought of a catch phrase for it. "How about 'This car can cover your bad driving.'?" She thought of another one, 'This car exceeds your driving techniques.'  Another, 'This car gives you a taste of genuine driving.'  She sighed. This type of catch phrases must make the viewer think that his/her driving was worse than the machines. She changed her mind and thought about the image first. A driver was sitting in this car with a glass of wine in his one hand and a wine bottle in another. He was enjoying auto driving. And he would say, "Cheers to the new technology!"

But, soon she remembered that a driver of this type of car would be prohibited to drink alcohol in case that the auto driving system wasn't working. "No meanings!" she shouted.  But, felt instantly embarrassed when she realized that the other customers in the coffee shop were looking at her.
