| When he was browsing the Internet, he happened to see an interesting website called, 'Movie Director'. He was a movie buff. Every weekend, he watched at least 4 movies on DVD. His dream was to make movies. For his future movies, he had been writing some scripts, although he had never showed them to anyone else. On the website, a software company would gather all the staff, a director, assistant directors, a music director, designer, costume designer, stylist, makeup artist, and actors and actresses. They produced a new software named 'Movie Director', and the idea was to gather people to make a movie to advertise their new software. The company gathered applicants, showing some prizes and the attention that the winning movie would get by bring uploaded on the website. They would gather scripts first, and then would choose the ten best scripts. And, finally, they would gather the staff and cast for each movie. The ten best scripts chosen by the company were 3 love stories, 2 serious dramas, 2 science fictions, a children's movie, a detective story, and a ninja story. After all members were decided, he introduced himself by e-mail to the other staff and cast. All the participants replied to him, writing about their enthusiasm to make a movie and they loved his ninja scenario very much. His movie's name was 'Seven Ninjas vs Seven Samurais.' When he was a child, he was a major ninja fan. He wore a ninja costume every day and practiced throwing a plastic Syuriken (throwing-knife) again and again. He would hide himself behind a sheet of cloth which he drew to imitate a tree trunk. He also hid himself in a heap of fallen leaves, grinning at his family who were looking for him passing by without noticing him. The software was rather elaborate. It had various functions. It provided various backgrounds. You could choose times and places, like old European cities, Old western bars where cowboys would go, Metropolis, Mountains, Country sides, even Space. The software also offered various kinds of rooms, furniture, transportations, costumes and wigs. In his ninja movie, he used the setting during the Edo period of Japan, of course. In the first scene, a ninja boss was asked by a Daimyo (District Lord) to assassinate seven Samurais. The Daimyo ordered him to use their own lives to kill the Samurais by stabbing each other so that the seven very skillful Samurais were killed suitably. The boss was upset because the seven ninjas were all his brothers and sisters, but he had no option, it was the ninja rule. In this scene, the designer prepared a room that was in the castle of the Daimyo. The Daimyo role's person acted in front of the TV in his own house looking at the castle room on the TV. It was like a TV game. His figure was shot by his smartphone and appeared on the TV screen. He spoke according to the script, and he sent the video through the Internet. It was kept in the cloud computer of the company and all the staff and cast could access it. On the cloud, the costume designer and the stylist would change his clothes to a kimono, his hair style to an old fashioned one. The assistant directors changed his camera angles and added the light and shadow accordingly for the scene. The director could then check all those works and instruct suitably. The program provided a music composing function and the music director made BGMs and the main theme music, and sent them to the cloud. The software also provided various movements for the actors and actresses, especially acrobatic movements like jumping from a cliff, or car crashing scene. The all staff could use these movements patent-free if they agreed to add it on their movie credits. The actors and actresses could act anywhere: in their room, a park, parking lot. They acted alone so they could repeat their roles as many times as they wanted, not concerning about other actors and actresses and the cameraman. They set the camera (a smartphone or digital camera) using a tripod. Later, the movie software could change angles, and could pan or zoom-in or zoom-out. The boss returned to his ninja village and talked about the mission to his six siblings. They were all shocked. After their parents' death, they helped each other. The older siblings taught the younger siblings the ninja's activities, following their parents' teachings. They should die in order to help the other siblings; but, in this mission all siblings had to diec Although it was the ninja's rule again, it seemed too merciless. The boss, the eldest brother, assigned each sibling to a Samurai to kill. The seven Samurais were skillful and popular among the local residents because they helped weak people. But it annoyed the lord who wanted to be the only person who received popularity. The boss decided the assassination day to be the day that the seven Samurais would gather. The seven ninjas started to follow each target respectively to find their weak points. The two sisters were assigned to the two young Samurais. All the seven Samurais were skillful but those two were a little bit weaker than the others, so the boss assigned them to the sisters. But, it soon changed. As the sisters followed the young Samurais, they found those young Samurais to be very gentle and kind. The sisters started to fall in love with them. The day came. When the seven Samurai met to go to an event, the seven ninjas launch the attack. Each sibling was fighting with their counterpart. The Samurais were strong, but the ninjas were absorbed with their mission. Eventually, the five brothers successfully killed their counterparts, although they were stabbed to death in the process. The two sisters and the two young Samurais were all that remained. At the end, the two sisters gave up to kill them and instead stabbed each other, and died. Seeing the two female ninjas kill themselves, the young Samurais were very shocked. Later, they learned that it was the lord's plot. They gathered supporters and defeated the lord. The two Samurais cremated their fellow Samurais and the seven ninjas together, and swore that they would make a peaceful world that this type of battle would never occur again. The End. After all, 'Seven Ninjas vs Seven Samurais' won the contest and was uploaded onto the website, and became a smash hit. Thanks to this movie, the software 'Movie Director' sold well. He and the staff and cast members toasted using Skype, as they had joined the movie from all over the world. |
