He hated his character. He was shy. He was a coward. His wife made fun of him. His children made fun of him, too. Even his subordinates made fun of him.
"Can I help you?" a young male clerk said. "Yes, I'm tired of my shyness and being coward. I'd like to change this character." "OK. You'll leave here with another character in a short time." The clerk gave him some instructions and pointed to the door of a room. "She is a professional and waiting for you." he winked at him. He entered the room. There was a young girl in a uniform like bank clerk. She said, "From now on I'll ask you 10 questions and you must answer only yes. If you can't answer yes, you can stop this but your character doesn't change, OK?" He said yes. She asked the first question, "Do you want to change your character?" "Yes." "Do you indeed want to change your character?" "Yes." "Do you want to change you character with all your heart." "Yes." "Do you want to change your character at any cost?" "What does it mean?" "You can say only ‘yes’." "Y-Yes." "Do you want to change your character no matter what happen?" He paused for a moment and said, "Yes." "Do you want to change your character even if it means somebody will have an accident?" He got angry, "What does it mean? I don't want to hurt anybody." "This is only a question. Whatever you say, nobody will be hurt." He said in a small voice, "Yes." "Do you want to change your character if you have an accident?" He felt a fear and wanted to stop this disgusting question but he remembered the clerk said if he stopped in the middle of the questions he had to pay extra money. "This is just a game." he said to himself in his head and said, "Yes." "OK, you are very good. " she grinned and changed her voice tone,"Last 3 questions. Do you want to change your character if your subordinates die?" "Yes." "Do you want to change your character if your wife dies?" He hesitated a long moment and said yes. "This is the final question.” She was excited and shouted, “Do you want to change your character if your children die?" He sighed and quietly said, "No." He soon got out of the room without glancing at her and paid something to the clerk and went outside. He was very tired. But gradually he felt relieved and realized that he didn't care about his character anymore. (The End) |
