Kindness
October 6, 2014
In this society, because of the bad economy, people stopped thinking about others and became ill-mannered. To counter this effect, the government gathered ideas for improvement of manners from its citizens.  Eventually, an elementary school girl's idea was adopted.

In the morning, a lady was sitting in the train to get to her job, in which all the other seats were occupied.
Soon an old woman boarded the train.
She was about to stand up to give the old woman her seat. But it wasn't necessary.  More than ten passengers stood up and offered the old woman their seats.  The poor old woman couldn't decide which seat to sit down. People pulled her from all directions aggressively.  After a few moments, a big young guy took her in his arms and placed her down in his seat.
There were voices of disappointment from the others.

During this moment, the video cameras in the train took videos of this event, and were sent directly to the government.  Soon some 'points' were sent to his smartphone.
Now he was smiling looking at the 'points' on the screen of his phone.

She sighed.
After the new policy started, people become very 'kind'.  People's 'kindness'
became judged by the host computer of the government and certain 'points' were given to people depending on the degree of their 'kindness'.  You could use the 'points' in shops or services just like money.

She got off the train and now was walking to the downtown area.
There was an old man walking in the middle of the crosswalk.
She noticed a truck approaching him. The driver didn't seem to notice the man.
When she was about to shout, she saw two men, a middle-aged man and a young man, rush toward him.
They were jostling each other competing, and at last, the young man reached the old man earlier and tackled him.

Fortunately, the old man was safe; but, unfortunately, the truck ran over the young man's leg.
The middle-aged man came late and started to take care of him. Soon other pedestrians gathered. One of them called an ambulance.

A middle-aged woman came and pushed the middle-aged man away, shouting, "I'm a nurse. Leave the injured person to a professional like me." She took a bandage from her handbag and started to treat the young guy.

Soon another guy came and pushed her away shouting, "I'm a doctor. Leave the injured person to a trained professional like me."
He picked up his surgical tools from his big bag.

The nurse mumbled something but now she was taking the patient's pulse.
Another person gave the doctor his pet-bottle water.  Another person put her handbag under the patient's head for a pillow.  Another person wiped the sweat from the doctor's forehead.  Another person c.

She sighed.
She knew they, all of the people who were helping the young injured guy, were conscious of the cameras on top of the traffic lights and repositioning their faces to be shown to the cameras.

There was a TV crew from another country that happened to catch this accident. They were broadcasting the Olympic constructions of this country, they didn't know about the new policy.

The female reporter shouted, "Now we are witnessing real kindness of this country's people. A young man rescued an old man throwing his own life in danger.  He was injured instead. Now, uncountable c really an uncountable amount of people gathered in order to help this young man. I've never, ever, seen a beautiful scene like this!"
