Shyness
February 23, 2013
He was a shy man and he hated his shyness so he invented a shyness remover.
This machine was very simple.  When you are upset or feel embarrassed, the machine which is placed on your wrist senses an electrical change in your body, and the machine will send back an uncomfortable shock to your wrist.  Disliking an unpleasant feeling, one would naturally avoid to be shy, so the man thought.  He asked his doctor friend about this idea.  The doctor laughed, "Oh, it's a great invention but I think that it will take more than a couple of years until you are not shy."  The man thought that 'a couple of years' wasn't so bad.  He had hated his shyness since his childhood days.
He wanted to try this machine and went to the book store wearing the
wristwatch-shaped machine.  He picked up one of the sexual magazines from the rack, and went to the counter where a young female clerk was standing.  When he saw the clerk glance at him with a despising look, he felt a sudden unpleasant shock in his wrist.  He almost called out in pain.
He was very pleased that the machine worked so well, and he smiled.  But seeing his smile, the female clerk frowned.  Her reaction made him feel more embarrassed.  The machine sensed his body's electrical change, and sent him another shock.  This time he shouted, "Oh!"  With this, the female clerk started to call somebody, which made him swiftly leave there.
He repeated these kinds of things.  One day, a couple of weeks after he started to use this machine, he accidentally met the woman he loved.  She was the reason that he invented this machine.  He had always wanted to talk with her but he was always too nervous to talk with her.
At the moment when he met her, he was ready for the strongest shock in his wrist.  But nothing happened. Did his machine break?  Maybe not.  Because he didn't feel any heart beating this time.  He naturally asked her to go on a date; surprisingly, she agreed.
Actually, all of his attention was focused on the machine on his wrist, so he couldn't afford to think about his shyness or how she would think about him.
After a happy date with her, he wondered whether this was the effect of the machine or was his shyness just his imagination.
