| He was a botanical researcher. He was brought up in a poor family and had seen his parents' work hard but still remained poor; they were farmers. His specialty was vegetables. His dream was to make a vegetable which was raised easily, grew fast, had rich nutrition, and was cheap. He crossed various types of vegetables' genes again and again and again c, but it was not an easy task. One day, he remembered of the existence of the 'pomato'. The 'pomato' was a cross-hybrid between a tomato and a potato which was invented by a German researcher in 1978. The above ground part of the plant grew tomatoes, while the roots provided potatoes. It seemed like the ideal vegetable, but it didn't succeed in business, and gradually disappeared. He added some new technology on the 'pomato', and finally he succeeded to make a new vegetable. The new vegetable's outstanding point was that it could be grown anywhere, it would grow fast, and, on the top of that, it could be harvested several times throughout the
He asked farmers to make this vegetable. But the vegetable didn't sell well because its appearance wasn't good, and the taste was not so good. In this country, the citizens' most important concerns were the appearance, taste, and low caloric contents. He, himself, had to buy the vegetables from the farmers, and, eventually, went bankrupt. There was a country whose dictator wanted to use as much money as possible for its military and as little money as possible for people's diet. The dictator came to know about the 'Super Pomato' through the Internet. For him, the vegetable seemed like an ideal food: easy to plant, fast to glow, and very cheap. The dictator sent his subjects to buy as many seeds as possible. For him it was the savior. Even though the country was ruled by an evil dictator, the dictator's wishes matched his main purpose to improve the people's health condition. Actually, in this country, because of bad agriculture policies and over-use of its lands, the food production was poor, and people were always starving. When he was about to export the 'Super Pomato' to this country, his government stopped it. His country had economic sanctions upon the country. He appealed that this was humanitarian aid but it wasn't permitted. He had to give up. But the dictator didn't give up. His subjects came again, and this time they abducted him with his Super Pomatoes. The dictator ordered him to spread the Super Pomato all over the country. Although he felt fear for his life, it was his wish. He went to various villages and examined their lands. The lands were all nutritiously poor, but it was the ideal condition for the Super Pomato. He taught the people how to grow the Super Pomato, and the farmers planted them. Thanks to the bad soil, the speed of growing the Super Pomatoes was faster than he had expected. After one month, farmers could harvest the first Super Pomatoes. The farmers ate half (because they were starving) and took seeds from the other half. After another month, the farmers could harvest ten times the first of their harvest. By this time their health condition had improved rapidly. They gained energy to be active. He had the privilege to use the Internet. The dictator allowed him to send e-mails to the leaders of various farming groups and organizations to consult about farming, although the government censored them. When he went to villages and met them, they soon came to trust him because the Super Pomato improve their health condition very much. He saved their lives. They had bitter experiences, not a few of them lost their children because of starvation. They also knew that the government would soon take their harvests to sell for weapons, and they would become starving again like before. This situation made them daring. When he sent the code-words which they had decided in advance, they started to go towns carrying a lot of Super Pomatoes, they gave them to the citizens for free, asking them to raise them together. They agreed and nobody informed the authorities about it because they were disgusted about their long period of starvation and the government's ways of treating them. The speed of the vegetable's growing was also beyond the dictator's imagination, and it made him late to realize the people's health condition's recovery, and the rebellion. Each farmer and citizen group rose at the same time. Their speed to proceed to the capital was fast. They had momentum. Their weapons were just hoes, spades, shovels, but the number of people aiding them was huge; they included government soldier's parents, grandparents, relatives, friends, girlfriends, boyfriends, teachers, classmates c Many soldiers gave up defending against the farmer and citizen groups, and some of them started to join the groups. The action of the dictator was fast. He gave up his luxurious house and expensive furniture and jewels (although he had secret money in various foreign countries) and escaped abroad with his family. The government broke down soon afterwards. The new government of the farmers and citizens decided their country's new flag to have the design of a tomato and a potato and leaves of the Super Pomato. They invited him to be the agriculture minister of the country. Now he was thinking about to export 'Super Pomatoes' to other countries, once all the citizen's health conditions improved; in order to get money to construct better infrastructure of the country. |
