| In this society, watching movies were one of the biggest pastimes for people because these pictures were well-made. But it didn't mean that the directors were always good. Sometimes they were actually really good, but sometimes there was room for amateurs to improve. He watched the movie, 'Saturn Attack'. He liked this movie but felt unsatisfied, especially in the last scene: The invaders from Saturn had a more sophisticated civilization than human beings, and they came to the earth to urge human beings to surrender to them. If human beings didn't agree with the surrender, they would destroy many cities. Human beings had to decide to be alive as slaves or die fighting. When the deadline for an answer was approaching, a new lethal virus was created. The virus would only effect the invaders by killing them, and wouldn't harm any human beings. The virus was being developed by a scientists' group as the government's last hope. The heroine was a female scientist, and the leader of the group. The virus was strong and could kill the invaders immediately. But it had a problem. It couldn't live in the air. It meant that somebody had to go to the invaders and  put it on them directly. As the leader she volunteered for the role. She bravely shot the virus into her body and went to the battleship where the leader and other important invaders were. She cut her arm, the blood splashed onto the bodies of the invaders and after a while they all died. The female scientist died in the arms of another male scientist. But the man didn't like this part. He didn't want the heroine to die. He wanted her to survive. So he started to write a new ending for the movie. First, he thought about how the scientist could survive. She escaped from the plane, leaving the virus bottle. The plane exploded and the virus spread among the invaders and they all died. But this method had some holes. The virus couldn't live in the air, the virus couldn't live in a bottle in the story so if he changed that part, he would have to rewrite the whole story. So he gave up this idea. Next, he thought about her shooting herself with the virus, then she went to the leader of the invaders and made love to him and the virus spread among them c It seemed to have a problem for kids, and on top of that, it would take time for the virus to spread among the invaders, and it wouldn't happen before the deadline. He gave up this idea as well. And, finally, he came up with this idea. The female scientist went to the invaders' battleship. She went to the toilet and peed into a couple of plastic bags and threw the urine bags at the invaders. As all the invaders died, she operated the battleship and landed at the airport and was welcomed by the president and all the citizens of the earth c He posted the screenplay of the new ending on the website 'Moviepedia' which was managed by a movie buffs' NPO. On this website anybody who liked movies could post their comments, criticisms, and new ideas. Soon this screenplay gathered popularity. Like him, there were many viewers of the movie who didn't like that the heroine died. Surprisingly, after a while, the movie company of 'Saturn Attack' announced a remake version, and would release it on YouTube. They paid some money to the man and he of course accepted their proposal that they would use his screenplay. Thanks to the new type of special effects technology, the director didn't need to have much time to remake the new-ending version. He used the films' unused edited parts from the movie and made the scenes artificially, and the actress playing the heroine dubbed her voice for each scene. On this day, the movie with the new ending was released on YouTube and many people watched it. Half of the viewers said that they liked the new ending. The other half said that they preferred the original. It became controversial. More and more people watched the movie both on YouTube and in the theater. The movie company had known that the viewers sometimes think that they want to change some parts of the movies because they loved movies so much. |
