Humanoid
December 13, 2015
In this society, humanoids were well made.

The government sent a humanoid to old single people who were thought to have a high risk of suffering from senile dementia because they have only a few chances to talk with others. Humanoids were so sophisticated that they could talk with anyone suitably and fittingly.

Humanoids encouraged people to move suitably for their health. It was a common occurrence to see humanoids walking with their owners hand-in-hand.

Humanoids didn't get tired or bored when people asked them to do a lot of tasks. Humanoids never got mad like humans even if people said the most ridiculous things.

The government allowed people to request their humanoids' appearance. The
government thought the owners might become closer with their humanoids. Soon after many Brad Pitt-like humanoids and Cameron Diaz-like humanoids appeared.

Thanks to the humanoid policy, the rate of senility went down. But another problem occurred.

One couple, a wife who liked David Beckham and a husband who liked Nicole Kidman, got divorced in order to get their own humanoids. It became big news and a lot of old couples followed suit.

Some people who felt jealousy against humanoids because they were smart, handsome, and strong, but still looked like human beings, started to attack humanoids, and broke many. This continued because the penalty for the ones who broke humanoids was rather light compared to attacking other humans.

The government made humanoids witty and say funny jokes following various proverbs, like, 'Laughter is the best medicine.' But sometimes their jokes were so funny that some people died of a stroke or a heart attack.

Eventually, the government changed the humanoid laws, and humanoids became plain, no outstanding characteristics and skills, no handsome or pretty, no powerful and funny.

But this also created another problem.

At this point, humanoids were not so different from regular humans. Some confused humanoids went to hospitals instead of factories, and bothered the staff while appealing to be sick.

The new type of humanoids sometimes made mistakes. They broke furniture and appliances at home.

At other times, humanoids would get lost driving their way back home and go to different places. The owners would have to drive themselves.

Humanoids sometimes would hustle to get people's praise, and get worn out in the middle of their work. People had to help their humanoids.

Humanoids sometimes said ridiculous things and puzzled people. Some of them said bad things and hurt people's feelings.

The government made new laws for humanoids to obey rules. Some humanoids appealed that their rights were violated. People laughed about the government's pointless policy.

But, soon people realized this was not so bad.
Senior people had to take care of humanoids and it made them busy. People taught their humanoids what was good and what was bad, it improve people's sense of morals. People regularly made their humanoids rest and worked instead, some people even started to work more than humanoids.

The rate of senility dramatically went down and people became healthier. The government claimed that they aimed for this effect from the beginning.

Now nobody could tell the difference between human beings and humanoids. (Once the government changed humanoids hair color into pink but soon people who thought it was cool dyed their hair pink, so the government gave up that policy.)

Imperfect humans and imperfect humanoids helped each other and they were respectively satisfied.
