Slope

She lived in a house on the top of the hill in the suburbs.　The road from the foot of the hill to her house was long and steep.     One day a guy came up to her house and proposed to her and was refused by her. On his way returning down he, being sad, fell down and rolled and hit his head and died.     One day another guy came to her house and proposed to her and was refused by her and fell down into the ditch and rolled and hit his head and died.     One day another guy came to her house with a bunch of roses and said, "Will you marry me?"  She asked him, "Do you have a cap or something with you?" He said no, and made a strange face.  So she gave him her father's hat. He was very pleased. But she said, "I'm sorry but I don't have any desire to marry you."     He was sad and on his way down he threw the hat away. As he was throwing it he lost a balance and fell down and rolled and hit his head and died.     One day another guy came to her house and proposed to her.  She handed him her father's hat and said nothing.  He was very pleased and skipped down on the road. He skipped cheerfully and fell down and hit his head.  This time he wore the hat she gave him and it protected his head. But he had had momentum because he had been skipping, he hit his head so hard that he broke his neck and died.     She decided to move.                                   (inspired by "Abunazaka" by Miyuki Nakajima) (The End)
