Movie

Although she grew up in a non-English speaking country, when she was very young, she became a big fan of 'The Wizard of Oz'.
She watched the movie over and over again. When she had a chance to watch the movie at the theater, she would always go and watch it. She would save her allowance money for a ticket.

She asked her parents to buy her a record player. She bought the sound track record of the movie and listened to it until it was worn out.

When the VCR was invented, she bought it immediately. It was very expensive, but she didn't care. She recorded this movie and watched it until the tape was worn out.

When the DVD machine was invented, she waited patiently until 'The Wizard of Oz' was released. Fortunately, it didn't take a long time because it was popular. She was happy because the DVD didn't wear out. She watched the DVD many times. When on the occasions the movie was played in the theater in her town, she would go every time to the theater, and enjoy the movie on the big screen.

As she watched this movie an uncountable amount of times, she memorized all the lines and the songs' lyrics. When she was young, the first line that she remembered was Dorothy's famous line, "Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore."  She would call her teddy bear 'Toto' and say this sentence to the bear many times.

As she got older, since she got a lot of practice using English sentences like, "We must be over the rainbow," or "Oh, but he will! He must! We've come such a long way already," or "The broom! May we have it?", her junior high school English teacher was amazed that she knew a lot of English grammar. Her teacher was also amazed of her good pronunciation.

She liked to sing songs from the movie. Her most favorite song was 'Over the rainbow':
"Somewhere over the rainbow way up high
There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true c"

As she sung this slow and melodic song millions of times, she became a good singer and it amazed her junior high school Music teacher.

When she got this new machine, she felt a great joy. It was a dreaming machine. If you set the headphone-shaped machine on your head, you could watch the dream that you requested through the Internet. She of course requested 'The Wizard of Oz'. She went to bed earlier than usual. She set the machine which was delivered on this day and went to sleep. It was an amazing experience. It was more realistic than watching the movie. It was like she was really in the movie. She was like a ghost standing and floating around in the scenes.

When she woke up, she was in a daze for a while. She couldn't recognize if it was real or still in the dream.

It was her first experience to feel like this. Although she was a big fan of the movie, she never mixed up the real world and the movie world. But now she was feeling as if the dream was real and the real might be a dream.

She wondered if she could live in a dream world. At first, she thought how fantastic it would be. However she continued to think, "But, if I continue using this dreaming machine, I might not be able to return to the real worldc  It might not be so bad. The real world is not so attractive c"

She took a day off from work.
When she was preparing her late breakfast, suddenly she remembered the last scene of the movie. She started to say Dorothy's line by heart:
"Oh, but anyway Toto, we're home! Home! And this is my room. And you're all here! And I'm not going to leave here ever, ever again, because I love you all! And c oh, Auntie Em, there's no place like home!"

She decided to go to a used-shop and sell the dream machine.
