He started to email the maker again.
He reported about the current situation of the bicycle that the power-assist was often down. He added that there appeared an error code '007' or '008' on the monitor.
Soon some instructions came with a polite apology. The instructions were almost the same as the instructions about how to fix the speed meter problem ~ operating the ▲, M, ▼ buttons. Although he didn't expect anything, he did as was instructed, and nothing happened. Soon after, he send another email.

This type of communication change were repeated between them several times. He was tired of it. Then they asked him to send a picture of the rear tire's axis with the motor. The motor was covered by a black steel cover, so he had no idea what they could see from the picture. He also thought why hadn't they asked him about that earlier if it was necessary. They also told him not to change the pictures' size, not to process it either. "Are they thinking that I will fake the picture?"  He took a photo and sent it by email.

He then received an email that read that he needed to buy a new rear tire with the motor. They said they could discount the cost because they felt sorry about this. It would cost$300. He returned an email stating that he only rode this bike for about 5 months. (It passed about 8 months after his purchasing but he didn't ride it for 3 months because of the snow.) So, if he needed to pay$300 for 5 months, he would need to pay another $300 after another 5 months, and so on.  He added that in his country the maker guarantees free fixing for one year under normal use. A return mail read that they would think about it.

He told about this to some of his friends, and two his friends said the same thing, "If I were you, I would demand that they send you a new bike."  He laughed and said, "I don't have such a strong heart."

After couple of days, he received an email that read they would send the parts and it would be for free. He was relieved. But a couple of weeks later, he received a small parcel by international shipping. "Didn't they say it needed a new rear tire and a motor?" He opened it. It was an electrical gadget, a cigarette sized metal box from which there were many connecters with colored codes: blue, red, green, yellow, black, brown, and white. There was no instruction paper in the parcel. He sighed.

He didn't receive any instructions by email either.
He left the parts untouched.

Recently, his bike had become a little better. Before the assist worked a third of the time, now it was about half of the time. This was like a game. He was a positive thinking person. When there was no assist, he thought it became a sport. Actually, his legs became stronger and he felt his new power when he was swimming.

One month had past.
It was very hot this year's summer. Pedaling with no assist became very hard, he was tired sweating to pedal. He decided to change the gadgets.

He looked at the bike carefully and found the cover that might have a space for a gadget. He opened it and there was the identical gadget as the maker sent. He disconnected one of the connecters and reconnected to the new gadget according to the cords color. It was repeated until all of the cords were changed. He screwed the cover back on and switched it on. Soon '007' error code appeared on the monitor. He sighed. As a try he started to pedal but no assist worked. He pedaled many times but the assist never worked. The new gadget worsened the situation. He changed the new gadget back to the old. But now the old one didn't give any assist at all! It became the worst.

He sent another email to the maker complaining about this situation, their new recommendation worsened the situation.

In the return email, with the apology, they sent some pictures. They were just pictures that showed how to connect the gadget. He was speechless. "I did and I emailed you about it. Who could send these pictures at this moment, more than one month later, after I've already finished changing it?!" he said out loud in frustration.

His next email, he stated that their way of acting in this matter was too sloppy. In their return email, they apologized saying that because they were located in a different country, their skills of his language were limited.

He was furious, "They must be thinking that they can pretend that they can't understand my emails properly, and are making excuses so they don't have to deal with it properly. This is deliberate and malicious. They are waiting for me to give up to fix this bike." He felt fear for the first time.
