Runner-2
September 2, 2012
When she was a child, she didn't like running.  At her elementary school sports meets she almost always finished last.  She could remember she once ran home crying after that event.   But when she was in the second grade of junior high, a gymnastics teacher said to her, "I've never seen  running form like yours before. It somehow has a natural beauty.  Like a wild animal.  Almost like a cheetah or something."  He added if she had a proper training she would be a good long distance runner.  Soon she changed her club to the track and field club and he coached her.
But when she proceeded to high school the coach of this school forced her to change her form into a regular one.  She liked her form.  Her former teacher had praised her for it.  So she quit the club and started running by herself.  Until now, in her middle twenties, she had been running without any coach.  She ran just for fun.
Sometimes her boyfriend said that she should enter some races. She hesitated about it because she thought her way of
running was amateur.  And then she met the old woman.  She didn't believe anything about making wishes but she might make it a good opportunity for a change.  After the incident she asked her boyfriend whether her running was good or not but he said he had no idea and suggested to ask some professionals.  She didn't know any professionals but remembered her old her junior high teacher and with her boyfriend she went to her old school.
The principal knew her and they talked nostalgically and he said the teacher had retired and gave her the teacher's address. She and her boyfriend went to her teacher's house.  The teacher remembered her and was pleased to meet her after such a long time.  She asked him to watch her running and to let her know what his impression was.  He promised to meet again one hour later at their old school.
They gathered in the school yard.  She wore training clothes and shoes.    Her teacher had a stopwatch.  After measuring her 10 kilometer time he said.  "The time was not bad but if you change your form, your time would be improved drastically.  You should remember your form in junior high."  Until then, she had never thought that her original form in junior high had changed.
