From The Newspaper (10) Corona
November 24, 2022
In the language of this country, abbreviations are often used and "Covid-19", or "Novel Coronavirus", has always been called just "Corona".

In the newspaper on November 23rd, the main article on the front page was, "In this prefecture, the most infections, 2,115 patients ~Corona the '8th stage' explosion, 3 people died."

The article explained that the number of the daily Covid-19 patients has exceeded the August 21st's record, 2,017 patients. The total number of patients in the prefecture were 142,747, the death toll was 245. There appeared 17 new clusters in 8 schools, 4 nursing schools, 4 nursing homes and 1 hospital.

There was another article on the same page, which read that new pills for Covid-19 have been approved. The pill can be used for mild symptom patients. This country's pharmaceutical company's drug for Covid-19 was approved for the first time.

He also checked old newspapers, they were from September 21st and 22nd.

The title of an article from the 21st was, "New type of vaccine has started in some areas. They will be distributed to other municipalities soon." The new vaccine was for the Omicron strain, manufactured by Pfizer and Moderna.

The article read that the interval time between one's previous vaccination should be more than 5 months. But, soon after, it was changed to 3 months. Actually, some of his acquaintances have already been vaccinated 5 times.

The title of one of the two articles on the 22nd was, "The prefecture will start to simplify the data of Corona patients."

After Covid-19 had started, each prefecture's health care agency, called 'hokenjyo', has been very busy to report info about patients to the national government. They got a bad reputation because it took too much time to report their info. So the national government decided to simplify the items to report about mild symptom patients. But, it wasn't a good idea, he thought.  Precise information from the patients will help to analyze about Covid-19 in the future. They should have created an app for the mild symptom patients to fill in by themselves.

Another article's title was, "The death toll of 'mild' and 'medium' symptom patients has increased." The subtitle was, "Does the spread of vaccination change Corona's symptoms?"

The article read that the rate of pneumonia patients have decreased, which they counted as a 'severe symptom'; however, more elderly people than before died because of their own chronic diseases. In this case, Covid-19's symptoms might be 'mild' or 'medium', but they would surely affect their death. A specialist mentioned that the definition of the Covid-19's symptoms should be changed.

Recently he heard about a new study that Covid-19's aftereffect might increase the risk of dementia later on in the patients' lives. If this was correct, it is very shocking, as the number of Covid-19 patients is huge.

Until recently the number of Covid-19 patients in this country have been fewer than other countries. There was a rumor that this country's people had 'Factor X' in their bodies. But, there was no 'Factor X'. Now the number of this country's patients was the biggest in the world.

In the article about the new drug on November 23rd, a specialist commented about the risk that if antivirus pills were used broadly and easily, some new variants which have resistance to the medicine might appear. He thought that we have gotten used to the situation of Covid-19, but we still don't know this mysterious thing, Covid-19. We should be more humble.
