As he had to stay at home more than before because of the Coronavirus lockdown, he watched more TV than before. Originally he was the type of person who didn't watch TV so often because he thought that watching TV was just time consuming, and that it was there just for relaxing after work.

But the "Coronavirus world" had changed his life completely. From morning till night, he kept the TV on and checked what the coronavirus was, how it spread, how we could protect from it, etc. At first, he had expected more information from the World Health Organization. But the WHO's announcements were slow and vague. He decided to protect himself and his family by self quarantining.

After a while, he started to think how to use his time at home efficiently. There was a term in this country, "A person who doesn't stand up from falling down without doing anything." A person who "falls down" should recover what he had lost if he does something. He liked this positive thinking.

Actually, there were many exercise programs on TV. As people stayed home, naturally they don't move as much as they normally do. So many exercise methods were introduced by instructors, pro sports athletes, as well as TV personalities. He thought this was a very good time to get to know various types of exercises that could be useful for his later life.

He also watched some cooking shows. If he could get some good tips for cooking, he could use them for the rest of his life. People have to eat every day, so there were many cooking programs on TV. He hated complicated recipes, but these three dishes are from the cooking programs that he watched that seemed to be not only delicious but also simple to make:

One: Tender beef steak
Put a piece of beef steak in a plastic bag and shut it without any air. Boil water in a pan up to 65℃, then put the bagged beef steak in it. Put a lid on it, and leave it for 10 minutes. If the temperature goes over 65℃, then it will make the meat tough. After 10 minutes, put the beef steak on a heated oiled pan and season it with some salt and pepper. Then add butter and cook them together. Put melted butter on the beef steak repeatedly until it becomes a roasted color.

Two: Professional fried rice
Prepare bacon and vegetables by cutting them to about the same size. Put two raw eggs in a bowl and stir them, then put in cooled rice and the ingredients mentioned above and mix them together. Next, put all of it in an oiled pan over a gentle heat and stir many times until the pieces of rice become separated.

Three: Use of readymade sauces for spaghetti
He didn't know that there were so many types of readymade spaghetti sauces that were sold in small plastic bags. These were carbonara, vongole, peperoncino, bolognese, arrabbiata, etc, etc. The cook introduced that you could use those sauces for other dishes as well. The cook made three types of food: A mixed-vegetable fry, a mixed seafood fry, and a pork saute. It looked like a very good idea for him. Maybe he could try the white sauce over fried fish and broccoli.

Like this, he tried various cooking recipes.
On the whole, they weren't as good as he had expected. The beef steak wasn't as tender as he had expected. The fried rice wasn't so different from his normal one. Considering the consumption of time, he had no idea whether he would make them again. He tried various pasta sauces for meat, fish, vegetables, and eggs. They were good, but he had to say, "Readymade is readymade."

The cooking world was not as simple as he had thought. But even so, he had gained a lot of advice and tips for cooking. As the coronavirus season might continue further, he would continue more information about cooking, and maybe his cooking life would be richer than before.
