| He thought about what businesses got the biggest gain under the coronavirus situation. They should be a type of business that could make a profit because people were at home. For him, watching TV was one of the biggest changes in his life after the coronavirus pandemic. Originally he wasn't a person who watched TV often, but after the coronavirus started, he watched TV more often in order to get information about the coronavirus. He also started to watch cooking shows as he began to cook more than before. He also watched other programs just to consume time while at home. From this experience, he vaguely thought that television companies were one of the "victory" companies in the corona situation. But, he checked on the internet, and came to know that TV companies' sales after the coronavirus had gone down. Some reported that it was because of lack of commercials offers; others stated that it was because of the cancelation of many TV sponsored events; others stated that there was a  decrease in production of new TV programs as they couldn't gather actors and actresses, and other attendants. To come to think of it, even with a high rate of viewing, it doesn't always directly result in high profit. [His Idea #6 : TV] ≪Performers and Musicians Channel≫ Performers and musicians are one of the hardest hit industries during the coronavirus pandemic. Theaters have been closed or can only offer a limited amount of seating because of social distancing. He used to watch plays often when he was a college student. Plays that he watched were performed by small theatrical companies and unknown players. But even so, he was still mesmerized by their energetic performances and skillful dancing. Their stories were always unique and impressive. After moving back to his hometown to get a job, he naturally lost his chances to watch them... So how about making a "play only" channel? The TV staff could record plays, and viewers could watch those on a pay-per-view channel. He believed that there were a certain number of core fans of plays, and they would be willing to pay money for performers and theater workers under the crisis situation of this genre. A "concert only channel" is another idea along the same lines. The different musical genres of music, jazz, classic, rock-specialized channel could have their own. ≪Radio Drama Channel≫ When he drove, he would normally listen to the radio, and one of his favorite programs was a radio drama. A famous actor and actress would perform the drama. As there were many characters in a drama, the actor and the actress performed more than two characters... In a 'Radio drama channel', actors and actresses would perform their roles in a studio just standing in front of mics. Viewers could be satisfied just by watching their reading the lines, it would show their natural charms and graceful talents. ≪Amateur Channel≫ In YouTube, there are a lot of amateur people's videos. They do various unique things, like acrobatic movements, funny dances, even just singing. Some of their performances are very skillful. TV staff could record the best performances, and broadcast them one a pay-per-view channel. They would be worth the money because of the enhanced video quality. And also it could have a cult following because the performers would naturally want to see themselves on TV, and would encourage their family and friends to see the show as well. |
