But they never appeared. These are products that he had read about in the newspaper recently, although they are not 'super' advanced products: ・Meeting Table with Air Cleaner: Offered from a big stationary company. $20,000. The upper plate has an air-absorber and reduces risks from the people at the table who might emit the virus. His Impression: Barbecue type of restaurants normally have tables that have a hotplate which absorbs the smoke from the grilled meat. The tables are simple just like a vacuum and don't seem that expensive. ・Good Quality Face Shield: Offered from a big electric appliance company. $20. Uses  the same technology of a liquid crystal display, the plastic of the face shield reflects 1/15 of normal plastic, "cloud-proof" for the user's breath, and scratch-proof. His Impression: The shield covers all of one's face, but the gap between the shield and your face lets the virus come in and out. ・Ultraviolet Ray Sterilizer: Offered from a medical robot company. The machines move automatically emitting ultraviolet rays. The ultraviolet rays kill the virus up to 30 cm away; for five seconds, 90%; for 15 seconds, 99.9%. As the ultraviolet ray harms human bodies, the machine should be used in places without humans. His Impression: 30 cm is too small. He once read that a similar type of machine had been invented and that it emitted a different frequency ultraviolet ray which wouldn't harm a human body. They are already in use at places like waiting rooms in hospitals. ・Sheet Type of Soap: Offered from a small soap factory. $5 (a box with 10 sheets). This company had been making soaps from natural ingredients and the 'sheet soap' is made by slicing a soap bar. The reputation from its users, which can be brought and used easily, increased their sales from 100 boxes per a month to 10,000 boxes. His Impression: This is the ideal invention, very simple but effective. He liked small companies like this which could invent various useful items. [His Idea #13 : New Products] If he was an inventor, he would focus to insist on creating a mask. Masks are simple, and absolutely protects against the virus. Especially, the mask called N95 made of a non-woven fiber. How about a mask that the main part is permanent, like a cap, and some underpart has a replaceable window with N95 fiber cloth. A small gadget that could be attached could make breathing easier, something like an air conditioner. He once saw a speaker that was attached inside of a window, and made a sound by vibrating the glass of the window. Using this technique, the mask could give a clear voice to one's listeners. |
