His Ideas 3 ~Voice Machine
September 23, 2020
He was a member of a guide group which offered guiding services around his town's historical and sightseeing spots to tourists from abroad. Recently, he had a chance to guide a young woman from France. She hadn't come to his country under the current coronavirus circumstances, but rather she had been staying in his country from the previous year. Now she asked his group to guide her around before she returned to her country.

This time his group prepared machines for him and the woman, which were a kind of a transceiver. The both received a gadget, and wore a pin-mic and earphones that enabled them to talk to each other remotely. Actually, if it was only them two together, this type of gadget would not be necessary because they could hear each other; but, this time there were some other members of their group who came along as observers. They had only a few chances to join a guiding situation, so the organizer of his group decided it would be a good opportunity. The organizer prepared extra transceivers for the observers so the main guide could concentrate on the customer. In fact, it did seem to make the French lady relaxed. If there were no gadget, the observers would come around her and she would feel pressure. They wore a set of gadget with earphones, no mics.

As a result, he thought that this system was rather good.
He guided her to a shrine, a castle site, and other places. Some places were crowded and noisy, so without this system, he would have had to talk in a loud voice. But thanks to the mic, he was able to speak in a normal voice tone.

He soon knew about the pros of this product. When he was teaching her how to pray in front of the main shrine, the other members walked around to other places of their own interest. Some walked more than 50 meters away from him. When they were ready to move on to the next place, he said, "Ok, let's go to the next place," and they all soon returned to the group. So the system gave flexibility for all of the attendants.

After the event he definitely believed that this system could be used for conversations among people avoiding the risks of the coronavirus.

The coronavirus doesn't transfer by mosquitoes like malaria or Zika fever. The coronavirus doesn't transfer by air like tuberculosis. The coronavirus transfers by a patient's saliva. Saliva doesn't fly unless you sneeze or cough or, more importantly, speak loudly, or sing in a big voice. People who don't have any symptoms are the biggest spreaders of the coronavirus, because normally if you have a slight fever or a small cough, a person usually doesn't go out.

[His Idea #3 ~Voice Machine]

This seemed to be a simple system, just an app for the smartphone, and a pin-mic and earphones.
The app, along with your smartphone, would recognize that the owner had started to talk to others. The app could trace and identify the person who has been engaged in the conversation via a GPS tracker system, and thus connect with him/her (through their app) automatically. From thereafter they could continue their conversation further away from each other than normally. After their conversation ended, the app would disconnect.

The system would be available for more than two people, like ZOOM.

People could communicate with each other with low risks of the coronavirus by keeping the "social distance" rules. So they wouldn't need to sit at the same table or be in a closed space area. This system could be used at bars, karaoke, various places, even at work places.
