She was a rather positive person, he thought.

He read an op-ed article in the newspaper. The writer was a business woman who ran two companies which supported entrepreneurs, offered job education and training, as well as interpretation services in numerous languages. Her main clients were women. Her companies would hold various lectures and conference, one of them was an annual international women's business conference.

Her op-ed article's gist was like this:
A famous musical group had a live concert with no audience in an arena which could accommodate 17,000 people. Their fans, some were from other countries, had bought a ticket to watch their live performance online and watched at home on their PC, TV, and/or smartphones. About 180,000 people enjoyed the concert. She was one of them.

She explained that the group performed in the same situation as that of normal settings, but there were many ideas added: addition of viewers' voices, good camera work, good quality of sound, etc. She could feel as if she was just in the arena. It was a moving concert.

Without this method, some people might not have been able to get tickets, or they might have felt it was hard to get to the venue. But because there was no limitation of seats, it wasn't "sold out", and, because it was streamed, people could enjoy it from home, in a relaxed atmosphere and setting.

She also mentioned that online 'kabuki' was another attempt. The organizer was planning to make traditional 'kabuki' in a different structure, a new type of 'kabuki'. As 'kabuki' has traditional rules, even for its audience, a 'kabuki beginner' might feel it easier to watch online.

Her company held an online lecture in which a female psychiatrist gave a lecture. It was held in a 40 seat room. For the online lecture, there were 120 attendants from all over the country including several from abroad. One of the attendants applied for the lecture 30 minutes before the starting time.

Because of these successes, she was thinking about offering online courses for elementary school students, as well as having a variety of business career courses.

She said that she recently attended a conference held in the US. If it wasn't held online, she wouldn't have been able to join. The International Business Women Conference that had a 1,000 attendants every year would be held online this year.

She also mentioned about other positive aspects of going online. Online shopping's repertoire became large, it enabled people to buy characteristic food and ingredients from the countryside, and have home delivery from famous restaurants.

Houses are not only for sleeping, but also for working and living. Thanks to a lot of various teachers online, you can choose many activities, depending on your level and how earnest you are. There were musical instrument lessons, English lessons, exercise programs, yoga, and many other activities. Also, other events have been created such as class reunions, parties with friends, and even there were some virtual travel. She thought that if we became 'greedy' to study and to enjoy something, the ways of how to enjoy are endless. We should have a passion about what to do it and how to do without being lazy or to think too deeply.

After reading the article he realized that he hadn't ever thought about the idea to have a concert in a large arena with no audience. Maybe normal people would think that if it was a no-audience concert, they should use a smaller space because the cost would be cheaper. But to come think of it, if the concert was held in a genuine large arena, than the audience's satisfaction would be greater. It was a thoughtful idea.

After reading the article, he checked the website of the International Business Women Conference. It read that this year, the 25th, would be held online. On the website, there were 10 minute long videos of each year's conference, and he watched one of them. There appeared many lecturers and panelists, both female and male, and they talked about innovation, diversity, sustainable, etc. It seemed to be a powerful meeting.

Her article reminded him of a TV program in which a top female softball pitcher advised a pro baseball pitcher who was in slump, saying that it was a good chance to change his throwing form. He had never changed his form because he had thought that his form was the best and he had good results. He was very proud of his form. But the woman said that it was definitely the chance to change, he should listen not to his own voice, but his ball's voice. People can't change themselves when they are good. He finally changed his form, and his new form produced more powerful pitches.

People can't change their routine because they are used to it, they are comfortable with it, and they have a certain pride to continue with it, so it is hard to change it. So, this might be good chance for us to change our 'normal' lives, which we believe is good. "But, is this fore sure?" he thought.
